On the other side of Morro Bay (the side without the rock) in Baywood Park, Rodney’s resembles a beach shack that’s weathered one too many storms. Don’t be frightened off by the façade, though. This waterfront dive is the province of chef Rodney Aanerud, who offers inspired interpretations of California cuisine. You might find chicken breast stuffed with Stilton cheese and chopped walnuts served over a port wine sauce or lime-marinated prawns served over linguine with avocado. The wine list is decent, and bargain dinners are offered nightly before 6 p.m.
