THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Rumba Restaurant Review:
Rumba has the makings of a night on the town, though most people primarily come to dance (or see others dancing). As a result, food takes a back seat---even if the menu supports an occasional standout, like lightly creamy poblano chicken soup topped with crisp potato strips. Many of the offerings are jazzed up with sides of plantains in various guises, plus beans and citrus-based sauces. Go-tos include slow-simmered ropa vieja and a crab cake with habanero rémoulade. Follow with a wedge of tres leches or apple-mango cheesecake, and plan on exploring the wine list, which ranges from South Africa to Spain, California and beyond.
