Long a fixture in Philadelphia’s Italian Market, Shank’s Original Uptown and its sister location on Pier 40 serve decidedly old-school Italian sandwich specialties including a fried chicken cutlet sandwich with broccoli rabe on crusty Sarcone’s bread. All kinds of hoagies are also available and the giambotti (a six-egg omelet with a dozen fillings) is legendary.
