THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Shiraz Restaurant Review:

THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS CLOSED Stephanie and Ali Shirazi took a leap by believing the area now dubbed the Crossroads would thrive. Ali Shirazi, a native of Iran, has moved out of the kitchen and onto the dining floor, but the menu still reflects his heritage. While the influences of the Mediterranean, Italy, India and Greece are evident, the best dishes are the ones from Persia. The roasted red pepper purée made with walnuts and drizzled with pomegranate molasses is a longtime favorite; use warm pita wedges to mop up its fragrant goodness. The chicken and seafood curry served over basmati rice is a dish that customers consistently clamor for, while the gormeh sabzi is a close second (Shirazi braises lamb shanks in tomatoes, Persian herbs and sun-dried tomatoes until it falls off the bone). When the weather is pretty, diners can escape to the brick courtyard, a bucolic retreat filled with flowering plants, fountains and twinkling lights.
