SoHo Kitchen & Bar Restaurant Review

: SoHo Kitchen & Bar adds a touch of Southern charm to Ohio City’s restaurant row. This small, unpretentious spot offers a menu full of surprises, including familiar dishes that are re-conceptualized. Under the steady hand of chef Nolan Konkoski, Southern-fried chicken comes three ways: mornin’ style (with waffles), evenin’ style (with mashed potatoes and collards) and late-night style (with mac ‘n’ cheese and sweet potato fries). If you want to go the entrée route, the low-country boil wins out --- it's loaded with scallops, shrimp, crab claws and chorizo. Jalapeño hush puppies, while simple and straightforward, are a good side, as is the smoked Gouda mac. Desserts are petite but tasty. Go for the banana puddin’. Even SoHo’s cocktails read Deep South, so expect plenty of bourbon, rye and moonshine-fueled concoctions. While the wine list is short, there are lots of interesting craft beers.
