Spiga is tan and beige throughout with much use of wood and the low ceilings contribute to a busy buzzy atmosphere. The prices help, too, and the structure of the menu which rightly guides you toward topnotch and unusually thin pizzas. There’s a range of good starters (octopus with salad); pasta comes in the usual guises, but is above average, and if you need something more substantial, try fish and meat done the Italian way. The wine list is short and concise and the service somewhat haphazard, but willing. Set lunch and pre-theatre 2 courses £13.95, 3 courses £15.95.
