Stack offers its own unique take on the hamburger and the burger joint, serving its gourmet preparations in a hip space with a blazing white bar. The Stack team includes the inventors of Austin’s hottest “see and be seen” nightclubs along with restaurant ace Tre Dotson of Maria Maria fame. Chef Octavio Benavides brings a wealth of fine dining expertise to the burger and bun. The Triple B is accompanied by a bourbon-bacon jam so good we could have it with every meal, while the Morning Glory includes bacon and an over-medium fried egg, along with a Parmesan crisp. Ask for the homemade ranch for dipping the fries, which are thin and crisp, yet retain a fleshy interior. The beef is all-natural and ground in-house daily, while chicken, organic eggs and produce are local. Non-carnivores are happy to find five full-meal salad choices. Appetizer options, including a crab slider and some wicked wings soaked in habanero butter, are available, too. The funnel cake trio is worth the extra calories, or drink dessert with the White Russian Smores milkshake. The full bar includes top shelf liquors and inventive cocktails.
