Swingos---perhaps you remember the name from the Cameron Crowe movie Almost Famous?---has been around for a long time, and with good reason. A special occasion restaurant for many a Clevelander, it is a family-owned operation that takes special pride in being there for customers' special days. And what a way to celebrate: start with a scallop martini---two seared jumbo sea scallops encrusted in toasted black sesame seeds and presented over a citrus-Pernod fumet---and move onward and upward to Châteaubriand bouquetière. Beef and seafood dominate the dinner menu, with dishes such as veal Oscar, steak Romano, Boston strip, salmon, scrod Florentine and Rocky Mountain brook trout. For atmosphere, dine in the beautiful, atrium-like Lake Room East. As for the wine list, the cellar holds over 18,000 bottles, representing a selection of over 1,800 wines from 25 countries.
