THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Syrah Restaurant Review:

Chef-owner Josh Silvers has a loyal following with his Cal-French fusion café, adjacent to Santa Rosa's historic Railroad Square. The compact industrial space turns charming with antique copper pots and a rustic vaulted ceiling. Silvers draws them in with comfort food that astounds with quality. Cases in point: crispy buttermilk fried quail with intense pancetta vinaigrette and green and yellow wax beans; pastrami smoked salmon; grilled lamb with fried artichokes and garlicky white beans; and duck with orange-pepper spätzle and corn-cherry compote. Selections change seasonally and according to what local purveyors haul in. A cheese menu almost overtakes the entrée menu in length. Not surprisingly, a stash of domestic and imported Syrahs is on hand, along with other impressive bottlings.
