THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Taberna del Alabardero Restaurant Review:

Walk into Taberna del Alabardero and be transported from Belltown's bustle to a stylish Spanish tavern. Located in the historic brick Austin Bell Building, this elegant restaurant serves authentic Spanish dishes incorporating Northwest ingredients. With a big sister in Madrid, and a sibling in Washington D.C., Taberna has a charming, European feel complemented by gracious service. Slightly more formal than other Belltown spots, the interior features high ceilings, buttery yellow walls, and large arched windows offering peek-a-boo views of Elliott Bay. Browsing the menu, it’s easy to create a meal of tapas, all designed to be shared and offering bold, complex favors. We recommend the tissue paper-thin slices of scallop, shrimp sautéed in a spunky garlic sauce, and ham and chicken croquettes. If you’re in the mood for a feast, consider ordering one of the three paella options (prepared for a minimum of two people). Individual entrées include swordfish served on a bed of creamy truffle-kissed noodles, a tender rack of lamb, and grilled duck breast arranged over fried polenta. The wine list offers interesting, reasonably priced Spanish wines, and you won’t go wrong with a pitcher of sangría. Happy hour fans will enjoy the dynamite tapas bar.
