Tavern Road Restaurant Review:

The team at Tavern Road in the Fort Point Channel is making a name for itself with its creativity. For starters, you won't find anything like nachos, chicken wings or potato skins on the menu. Instead, envision charcuterie boards filled with duck prosciutto, soppressata and chicken liver pâté. Fried chickpea bites, crispy lamb meatballs and mussels --- made even better with the addition of mulled cider and Italian sausage --- round out the small plates. Order a glass of Cabernet to go along with juicy, espresso-rubbed flat-iron steak served with a side of chimichurri. We like the whole roasted black bass that sits atop eggplant caponata. There’s a late-night menu available from 11 p.m. until close that features a burger topped with smoked cheddar and sriracha aïoli, steak and cheese with caramelized onions on ciabatta, and smoked fish pâté. Try the flourless chocolate cake for dessert.
