THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Tesoro Trattoria Restaurant Review:

Many downtown high-rise workers and theater-goers regard this Italian restaurant as their own little discovery, but we’ve been somewhat disappointed with the quality as of late. Located in the picturesque fountain court of California Plaza, next to MOCA, this welcoming trattoria is stylishly decked out in polished mahogany, etched glass and simple artwork. The Tuscan-inspired menu offers respectable takes on familiar specialties like calamari fritti, tuna carpaccio, veal Marsala and tiramisu. But the Caesar salad may be wilted and bland, and pastas uninspired. Proceedings get more interesting with sautéed tiger shrimp with lemon and capers, farfalle with roasted eggplant and sun-dried tomatoes and spicy Italian sausage pizza. A moderately priced wine list features over 300 selections from California and Italy. It's an easy walk from here to the Music Center.
