THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED LOCATIONS Thanh Thanh Restaurant Review:
Yet another Vietnamese restaurant in the suburbs worth the drive, Thanh Thanh is sandwiched between minor retail chains and a Cajun seafood shop in a shopping plaza anchored by a stadium-size Wal-Mart. In comparison to its company, it's a designer boutique of good taste. Order the crispy fried young hen seasoned with five-spice powder and served with steamed buns, if it happens to be the day's special (and it often is). Excellent frogs' legs are dry-sautéed with fresh ginger, curry powder and peanuts, and the goat stew is tender and warming. Bubble teas are made with fresh fruit, and the Vietnamese coffee with sweetened condensed milk is as strong and sweet here as anywhere.
