Tiny Boxwood's Restaurant Review:
Thompson + Hanson nursery has long been a popular oasis in the heart of the Highland Village area of Houston, but when the owners built a restaurant on the grounds, it became a destination for foodies as well as gardeners. Locals pack the place for lunch, brunch and dinner, when diners enjoy the fresh foods prepared with products sourced from local suppliers. Dinner might consist of a foie gras starter followed by a six-ounce buffalo filet or Gulf Coast redfish and grits. In between lunch and dinner, Tiny’s offers up meat and cheese plates and French-style picnics. The restaurant serves beer and wine only, with a few wine cocktails. Weekend brunches draw many, so come early to stake out a good table, either inside or under the trees. Oh, and don’t forget the huge, chocolate brownies for dessert.
