THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Tir na nOg Restaurant Review:
A cozy fireplace warms one corner, a thatched-roof cottage creates a setting in another, and Gaelic street signs point the way to distant Irish towns: Tir na nOg’s interior forms a collage of caricatures of Irish culture. If you choose carefully, the food is a satisfying reflection of British Isles pub fare. Start with thick “boxty” potato fries covered with curry sauce or a Scotch egg. Hearty Irish and British-influenced entrées include fish ‘n’ chips, beef Wellington, corned beef and cabbage, bangers and mash, smoked salmon, or the cottage pie (aka shepherd's pie). Cross-cultural fare, such as “Celtic” nachos and hummus, also grace the menu, along with a plethora of hefty half-pound burgers and their toppings. To reinforce the mood, there's live music --- including traditional Irish --- four nights of the week, although rock music also takes the stage some evenings.
