Esin Denktas is half Egyptian and half Turkish; her husband, Erdem, is a Turk who lived in Northern Cyprus (where his uncle is the president). It's no surprise then that their cuisine (Esin prepares the mezes and desserts; Erdem does the kebabs) includes Turkish, Greek and Arabic dishes. There are eggplant dips, stuffed grape leaves and pickled leeks, various kebabs and hearty braised lamb shanks, to name just a few. We suggest you settle into the dining room, with its draped ceiling and exotic rugs reminiscent of a sultan's tent, and ask the Denktas to prepare you a feast.
