THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Trece Restaurant Review:

Who says the number 13 is unlucky? It’s obviously not the case here where a tequila bar, upscale Nuevo Tex-Mex and stylish modern digs add up to a lucky 13. A hundred-plus tequilas are offered by the glass or in tasting flights. For those who just can’t sip tequila at room temperature there’s an instant chiller at the bar that darn near freezes it down to five degrees. But it’s not all about the booze and bar scene. The food can be quite good, especially the appetizers. Guacamole is made tableside to your specifications. A tuna ceviche is a spicy wonder adorned with grilled and roasted serranos floating in a basil foam. And delicate crêpes stuffed with lobster in a piquant cheese sauce are equally good. Entrées aren’t quite as elegant as the appetizers; the Budin Azteca is a giant blob of tortillas and chicken in a vivid green poblano sauce that looks and tastes more like a favorite casserole than the multi-layered tortilla pie as advertised. Good idea to stick with the dozen or so appetizers and plenty of tequila.
