THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Tropica Restaurant Review:
This Midtown bar and restaurant is an after-work stop for commuters headed to Grand Central Terminal, so you may feel out of place sans coat and tie even though the dress code is casual. Tropica specializes in seafood with Caribbean and Asian overtones, served in the large airy dining room decorated with fish motifs. Among the signature dishes are the appetizer of tuna tartare spiced with ginger, miso and wasabi, as well as the sashami and sushi combination and the crab cakes, both of which come in starter and entrée portions. Other entrées include the roasted black sea bass and the good grilled sirloin steak. Among desserts are two perennial favorites, Key lime pie and molten chocolate cake.
