This Italian-style café has long been a favorite with East Village locals who know a good people-watching perch when they see one. Have a seat in the window a few steps above the street and order whatever suits your mood or appetite, from cappuccino or espresso to the omelets or chicken dishes. Pastas include artichokes and Parmigiano ravioli in a cream and sage sauce with sun-dried tomatoes; spaghetti alla carbonara; and the signature dish: homemade fettuccine with meat sauce, sausage and pork ribs. We also recommend the panini, whether you choose to have them hot or cold. Be sure to leave room for the tiramisu.
