Vickery's Shem Creek Bar & Grill Restaurant Review:
Quirky retro décor, generous seating both inside and out, and a laidback vibe make this sprawling waterfront restaurant a crowd pleaser for just about any occasion. The menu is heavy on seafood, with such entrées as seared grouper, shrimp linguine, and a fried fish platter. Salads topped with tuna steak, grilled salmon, fried oysters or cayenne chicken are satisfying, light meals. Burgers and sandwiches like a turkey pita with slabs of Brie, and a Cuban Reuben with a special mojo sauce come with hand-cut fries and pepper gravy. Bread pudding with a bourbon sauce is a standout among desserts. As the wine list may leave you cold, opt for a brew from a much better suds selection. An expansive deck overlooking the shrimp boat fleet comes alive during the summer. Public docking is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
