Few tourists notice Villa Romano, perched near a busy highway intersection, but this charming Italian restaurant in lower Napa should not be overlooked. Providing diners with old-world Northern Italian cuisine, Villa Romano brings back simplicity and doesn't break the bank. Many of the dishes are a bit heavy on cream or sauces but still finely crafted. Case in point, try the pork loin medallions with a mushroom cream sauce or the chicken piccata with lemon and capers in brown butter sauce. Antipasti and insalate abound with variety. Villa Romano offers a comprehensive wine selection with emphasis on Italian wines. Not for those looking for a quick meal as service can be a bit slow.
