Vintage Caffè is an oasis of sorts nestled in between orchards, vineyards, a couple of wineries and the outskirts of Fairfield, where most discriminating diners fear to tread. Yet this spot delivers, especially during lunchtime, by providing honest, reasonably priced fare in pleasant surroundings. The style is proto-Italian, with the menu divided up into antipasti, insalate, panini, primi, secondi and dolci. The fried fish panini is particularly enjoyable. American favorites, like BLTs, burgers and fish 'n' chips, are offered in abundance. The wine list presents a variety of local Suisun Valley products, many quite enjoyable. If exploring this up-and-coming wine region on the other side of the hill from Napa, Vintage Caffè is a welcome choice.
