Wassail Restaurant Review:

This tavern-like restaurant is New York City’s only spot dedicated to cider. There are 12 on tap and dozens by the bottle (some costing as much as $60), plus a slew of house cocktails. The menu is all vegetarian, but that shouldn’t put off a carnivore. There’s a very good roasted cauliflower with black garlic, and the dish of peas with smoked ricotta and olive oil is richer and more complex than one would have ever guessed. Roasted beets boast an accompanying cast of pistachios, goat cheese and lemon ash, offering a similarly deep flavor stratum. Save room for the frozen spruce soufflé paired with a sweet cider.
