THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Wei Fun Restaurant Review:
It’s not Chinois on Main, but it’s almost as chic: now you can savor haute Chinese on Montauk Highway, thanks to the team behind The 1770 House and Cittanuova. Cool modern design inflected with chinoiserie make for a striking décor, including white floors, white ceilings and the de rigueur flat-screen TVs. On balmy nights, sit outside and let chef Kevin Penner bring out wonderfully authentic Chinese fare. The dim sum is worthy of Chinatown and the duck soong with lettuce wrap tastes lush and refreshing. If heat is your thing, try the fiery Chengdu pork with green beans or the delicate steamed salmon with asparagus, chilies and cilantro. The sorbet and gelato selection, imported all the way from the Italian outpost Cittanuova, adds a refreshingly light and sweet touch at the end of a fiery meal.
