In the land of themed entertainment, XS Orlando is the latest concept in dining and diversions---three floors with a hip décor boasting terrazzo floors, colorful suede furnishings, and brushed aluminum and copper finishes. Essentially a super-sophisticated game arcade for grown-ups, this destination features a 240-seat, casual restaurant on the first floor with Disney grad Francesco Abbinanti in the kitchen. The menu is upscale, with starters like roasted mussels, oyster beignets and pan-fried escargot with Gorgonzola cream, and entrées including whole yellowtail snapper, Maine lobster, braised lamb shank, and assorted flatbreads. For dessert, try the roasted banana crème brûlée or warm caramelized apple tart. Just an escalator ride away are more than 110 interactive games and attractions---virtual roller coasters, motorcycle racing, casino-style slot machines and more. Or scale Fun Rock, a two-person climbing wall that tilts, spins and rotates to mimic an actual climb. Up one more floor to Club XS for dancing and live bands, then the rooftop terrace for more live entertainment and dancing. No need to count calories, you’ll burn plenty.
