Yiannis Greek Restaurant Restaurant Review:
For more than 40 years, this little charmer has been providing a taste of Greece in a cozy, rough-timbered dining room. All the usual Greek specialties are offered, and the moderately priced entrées come with avgolemono soup, Greek salad, baklava and a glass of Mavrodaphne (a port-like dessert wine). A massive appetizer platter --- containing feta cheese, chunks of tender lamb, kalamata olives, tzatziki, dolmades, phyllo pie and more --- is a good way to begin. We like the saganaki, a delightfully seasoned Greek cheese flamed at the table to a half-molten state. For entrées, the classic moussaka is well prepared, scented with oregano and mint, plus a hint of cinnamon. Other main courses include pastitsio, souvlaki, braised lamb shank and a moist half-chicken with rice and braised vegetables. There are a few Greek wines to complete the dining experience.
