360 Bar & Dining Restaurant Review: With 360-degree views of Sydney and its surrounds, and floor-to-ceiling windows, this restaurant at the top of the iconic Sydney Tower is an elegant and romantic hideaway in the sky. The illusion of floating on the clouds is enhanced by the gently revolving floor. The modern Australian menu offers something for everyone. For an entrée, try the lavender consommé, with seared sea scallops, Hawkesbury calamari and sorrel. For mains, go for a slow-roasted beef filet with foie gras, zucchini blossom and shallot purée, or the crispy skinned ocean trout with white asparagus barigoule, hazelnuts and pea shoots. There are plenty of tempting desserts---from peach and lemon grass consommé to a lemon meringue soufflé, and white chocolate mousse with cherry jelly and pistachio ice cream. The sommelier has matched a wine to every dish on the menu, but those in the know can choose from the extensive international wine list. Start or finish the night with a fruity and exotic “sphere” cocktail, such as the “banana nanana” with Malibu rum, Toschi Nocello, Lena banana liqueur and cream, topped with coconut and with a jelly banana “ravioli.” |
