Aladdin Mediterranean Cafe Restaurant Review: A bit off the beaten path but well worth the trek, Aladdin Mediterranean Café is a tasteful and inviting eatery. The menu combines familiar snacks along with more exotic dishes, such as lemon-flavored sausages, cheese-and-lamb-stuffed pastries and herb-laden pizzas cooked in a wood-fired oven. We dare say they serve some of the best shwarma in town. Dishes are lovingly presented and healthy in portion. The Aladdin meza platter presents a nice sampling of hummus, tabbouleh, baba ghanouj, chicken and lamb shwarma, dolma and falafel with Aladdin's special hot sauce, a zesty garlic sauce, pickles and warm pita bread fresh from the oven. Our favorite pizza, "Jafar’s," features marinated lamb, herbed onions, peppers, fresh tomatoes and homemade sauce. Vegetarians will enjoy the Aladdin pizza, with 11 spices in the sauce, tomatoes, mozzarella and French feta. Charbroiled shrimp kebabs with peppers and onions are served with basmati rice and a Lebanese salad. Save room for the baklava for dessert. |
