Amici Miei Ristorante Restaurant Review: Tucked away in a small suburban shopping center far from the madding crowd, this very serious restaurant shuns the typical Italian-American menu. Instead, the chef-owners want to entice families to enjoy the traditions of the Italian table with such dishes as sautéed veal liver in an orange sauce or grilled lamb chops marinated in Chianti. A roundup of pastas includes homemade ravioli stuffed with fresh ricotta, potato gnocchi with buffalo mozzarella, and fettuccine with veal and beef ragoût. The chefs do take advantage of the brick oven by tossing several thin-crusted pizzas and topping them with cheese, grilled vegetables, roasted peppers and assorted other ingredients. Desserts come via trolley; the tiramisu is one of the best in the area.
