 Anasazi Restaurant Restaurant Review: The charmingly rustic décor at Anasazi belies the refined cuisine that awaits. Vigas span the ceilings in the cavernous dining rooms, bedecked with stacked stone accents and walls stenciled with petroglyphs --- the rock paintings exemplified by the Anasazi people. The regularly changing menu offers modern American cuisine with Southwestern highlights; shrimp-dusted crab cakes amidst a swirl of avocado tomatillo mousse and green chile “caviar,” little green globes of gelatin with hints of pepper; medallions of local free-range lamb with jalapeño croquettes; and chile almond-crusted salmon in a blood orange butter sauce. Waitstaff are friendly, knowledgeable and attentive, although the cuisine doesn’t quite live up to their effusive recommendations. |
