Anchovies Restaurant Review: This no-frills Italian joint located in the South End has been serving up red sauce favorites at clearance-sale prices since it opened. Quick favorites are the specialty, with a heavy focus on salads, pizzas and subs. We like the Columbus panini filled with prosciutto, mozzarella, tomato, roasted red pepper and basil served on ciabatta. Mussels with garlic butter or marinara and chicken Parm are also available. Don’t miss the Italian nachos made with corn chips, beef Bolognese, ricotta and cherry pepper. All entrées come with bread, a side salad and pasta. Pints of Harpoon, Guinness and Sam Adams outnumber the tumblers of house red as locals gather until the wee hours. |
