Angelina's Deli-Cafe Restaurant Review: This lively family-owned deli has been a social cornerstone of the Outer Richmond for more than 25 years. The cozy interior accommodates only a handful of tables, so it’s the wide expanse of outdoor seating that really draws the crowds. Hot and cold sandwiches (think roasted turkey on sourdough, decked out with a cranberry marmalade; and a meatball sub smothered in marinara, provolone and pepperoncini) and a wide selection of soft cheeses, charcuterie and freshly made salads make it easy to eat light or heartily. A glass case features hefty vegetarian and meat lasagnas and meatloaf, among other temptations. Lots of fresh scones and buttery croissants can be found in the morning, but may sell out by noon. Desserts include carrot cake with a thick dollop of cream cheese frosting, and a soft-serve ice cream machine is especially welcome on warm days. |
