Angelo's Ristorante Restaurant Review: Chef-owner Angelo Caruso has transformed the suburban dining scene in Stoneham with his hearty, sophisticated menu that canvasses all of Italy for inspiration. The specialty here are his pasta dishes like the gnocchetti and gamberi and spinaci, homemade pasta with pan-roasted shrimp, spinach, brandy and tomatoes in a rich cream sauce. The antipasto Italiano is a huge platter of prosciutto, dry cured sausage, marinated eggplant, roasted pepper, olives and cheeses. Veal stuffed dumplings float in the tortellini soup while the penne amatriciana overflows with smoked pancetta, onion, red wine, hot peppers and Parmesan. Entrées include staples like chicken Marsala, veal piccata, frutti de mare and grilled steak with a Gorgonzola red wine black truffle sauce. Pair it with a glass of wine from a list that includes half bottle and reserve selections. |
