Angelo's Steak Pit Restaurant Review: Angelo's always gets the nod for fat steaks grilled over aromatic hickory. It has been here since 1958, which might explain the menu's word choice of ladies top sirloin (what could that mean? a female cow? a demure feminine portion?), and the resident Big Gus 20,000-pound steer is practically a local celebrity. The restaurant closes in the winter, opening back up each March to accommodate the spring break madness of Panama City Beach. Start off with a shrimp cocktail, segue to a Kansas City-style rib-eye, maybe with a side order of onion rings or a packed-to-capacity baked potato, then, if you've the fortitude, a slice of Angelo's famous angel pie with ice cream.
