Ashoka Indian Cuisine Restaurant Review

: Ashoka, the ancient Indian emperor, would no doubt be proud of this homage. More than 100 delicately spiced entrées are authentically prepared to reflect the cultures that influenced India as well as the country's diverse cuisine depending upon region. Start with lightly salted, unleavened, crispy lentil bread, dipped in tamarind sauce or cilantro-spiced yogurt, and sip a sweet lassi yogurt. Other options include lamb masala and chicken curry served with vegetable curry, bread, rice, soup, lentils, cooling cucumber sauce and rice pudding dessert, all of which arrive on a large platter arranged around a copper pot of Halal meat; it’s enough for another meal at home. Or try the saffron-laced Hyderabadi chicken or vindaloo, which are so scorching you’ll ask servers to keep the water coming. You’ll also find Indian takes on Chinese dishes like fried rice, garlic chicken, vegetable and chicken spring rolls and soups like chicken Manchurian. Vegetarian choices abound. Beer selections include Indian brews as well as wines from vineyards around the world.

BEWARE

The entrees are flavorless. The resaturant is dull and suffocating.

Seating is horrible, and the noise level can be loud enough to rupture your eardrums. Food will be served after ages and 3 out of 5 times incomplete order will be served. The day we went the waiters were going all over the place and were randomly serving orders without knowing who ordered what???

ASHOKA is the worst place for any occasion or everyday dining.
