Aspens Signature Steaks Restaurant Review: Stacked stone crafts a rustic, warm interior that suggests a mountain lodge or cozy retreat. The two-sided fireplace roars with warmth in cold weather; surrounding it is a seating pit so one may toast up properly before dining. Lobster bisque makes a good starter. We also suggest the al dente butternut squash ravioli topped with sage, brown butter and toasted hazelnuts. All the steaks are hunker-down size, except the filets, but even those weigh in at ten ounces; check out the bone-in cowboy cut. While the steaks are tender and prepared as ordered, we find the flavor a bit pale. Grilled chicken and fish round out the line-up. The wine list offers three- and six-ounce pours, and lots of good values by the bottle. The “early bird” menu operates all day on Sunday, but doesn’t allow for splitting dishes. |
