Athens on 4th Ave. Restaurant Review: You’ve spent the day shopping on funky, hip Fourth Avenue and you need a bit of an escape. And that’s what you’ll find at Athens on 4th Ave. (although technically it is on 6th Street). You’ll encounter white tablecloths, friendly servers, a peaceful aura and a menu straight out of its namesake city. Start if you dare with flaming saganaki complete with the shouts of "opa!" by the staff. Follow that with the sweet stuffed red peppers, all cheesy and fried to a golden brown. Avgolemono is silky and tart. For entrées, we suggest the moussaka or the grilled lamb chops, or maybe even the kalamarakia, Athens’ take on calamari. As for what to drink: Greek selections dominate the wine list.
