Atkins Park Tavern Restaurant Review:

Atkins Park Tavern fits right in with the quaint architecture and atmosphere of Market Village in Smyrna. Chef Rusty Hamlin, a Louisiana native, lends a Creole touch to some of the dishes and creates others that are signature to this location. Look for the muffaletta, a po' boy and a debris sandwich, and there’s gumbo with andouille and jambalaya, too. Atkins Park classics include the Georgia boiled peanuts and the fried chicken with whipped potatoes and braised greens. A little of the low country appears in the form of she-crab soup. The Louisiana influence re-emerges in the beignets for dessert. The wine list is serviceable, with lots of decent choices by the glass, but inexplicably no rosé by the glass, only by the bottle. Note the Z. Alexander Brown "Uncaged," a red blend by Georgia music legend Zac Brown. The beer list showcases numerous craft brews and drafts.
