 The name says it all. Manhattan’s loss was Greenwich’s gain when chef Debra Ponzek and her husband, Gregory Addonizio, left New York City for Connecticut to open this cozy country-style kitchen and self-serve café, offering both French delicacies and more rustic items throughout the day. Breakfast is made special with an eye-opening espresso bar, a welcoming, sun-filled space in which to enjoy fine coffee along with a just-baked muffin or tart laden with fresh fruit. Lunch brings light and easy choices: soups, sandwiches and main-course salads, plus a variety of entrées and whole-grain and vegetable sides. Dinner offers specialties like poached salmon and crab cakes and an array of other weekly changing selections. If a romantic atmosphere is in order, take Ponzek's food to-go to be enjoyed in the intimacy of your own home.
