Traditional bistro dishes like chicken liver parfait, paired with grainy mustard and pickled red onions, and savoury beef bourguignon and gnocchi are familiar with a twist, while frogs’ legs are Asian-influenced, with ginger and tamarind. A major pull is the one-dollar oysters, offered nightly and served generously with finely grated horseradish and mignonette sauce. Vegetarians have a few choices: the socca crêpe with Mediterranean vegetables or the mushroom tortelli. Guests will also take pleasure in the three-course prix-fixe menu, presenting a variety of tastes for just $35. A substantial wine list has options hailing from Italy to Spain, with a particular focus paid to French and Canadian labels.
