A far cry from your average burger joint, this casual dining spot from chef Laurent Tourondel turns out burgers on the gourmet end of the spectrum. Starters include an ahi spring roll and deep-fried pickles, and the attention to quality sets these versions apart from what you find at other run-of-the-mill burger eateries. BLT's certified Angus beef burgers may weigh in at a mere seven ounces, but that's a good size for the flavorful, cooked-to-order patties. Toppings such as Shaft's blue vein cheese, fried eggs and homemade chili are available for guests to customize burgers to their liking. Those not into beef will be pleased to find falafel, lamb tandoori, and varieties of chicken burgers to go along with the three shapes of french fries. More than 20 beers are on tap, or diners can try one of the whimsical milk shakes such as the "The Lunch Box" --- a concoction of vanilla ice cream, peanut butter and grape jelly. Late-night visitors find more of a kick from the spiked milk shake section, which proposes the fun "Grandma's Treat," a combination of Maker's Mark, caramel and vanilla ice cream.
