Campo Fina Restaurant Review:

Around the corner from Healdsburg's sprightly town square is Campo Fina. An intimate narrow corridor leads to crimson banquettes where diners enjoy a tight menu of mostly small plates, including skillet meatballs with smoked mozza. The hallmark is the Mugnaini wood-fired oven, producing charred cracker crust pizzas such as the margherita di bufala painted with sauce and flecks of basil. Other shareables include a generous beet salad with apricots, blue cheese and walnuts; roasted cauliflower with anchovy and currants; and grilled sardines. Heartier plates deserve worthwhile consideration, including lamb chops with fregola pasta pearls, roasted summer squash and carrot top pesto. The efficient wine list leans Italian, mixed with some locally grown old-world varietals. The surprisingly ample patio is a popular draw on warm days, featuring the bocce court and outdoor bar seating under a thatched roof.
