THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Cool River Cafe Restaurant Review:

The Denver Tech Center's population of upwardly-mobile thirty- and forty-somethings has yet to tire of this 18,000-square-foot amusement park of a restaurant --- not just a place to grab a bite, but also the spot down south for seeing and being seen. We suggest taking a seat on the sky-high mezzanine level --- you'll swear you're in an IMAX theater --- and nibbling on sautéed crab cakes with roasted red bell peppers and rémoulade while you pore over the expansive wine list, full of steak-worthy, and often high-ticket, reds. For dinner, we stick to items that require a large, sharp knife: a 14-ounce Jim Beam-infused rib-eye steak, pork tenderloin with habanero-peach-barbecue sauce, or Denver venison with lingonberry sauce. Side dishes --- white cheddar-and-chive cream corn, six-cheese scalloped potatoes, sautéed mushrooms --- are typical, tasty and predictably overpriced. When it's time for dessert, consider the Makers Mark pecan bread pudding or leave your lofty perch and head downstairs to the revamped bar for people-watching, a cocktail and plenty of TV viewing.
