THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED East Coast Grill Restaurant Review:

Chris Schlesinger and his funky bunch of cooks put the East Coast Grill name on the dining map years ago. Since then, he sold this flagship, but all remains intact. The restaurant is a stage for the Southern-style/Caribbean cooking of chef Jason Heard, seen on a seafood- and barbecue-heavy menu. The Inman Square location draws a crowd that's as different as the three-part set-up: open kitchen, a Polynesian theme, and a raw bar. Local academics make a habit out of the Bloody Mary brunch. Tourists flip coins over who is getting the Texas-style brisket or the grilled white pepper-crusted tuna with wasabi. And everyone from bike-couriers to couples on date-night spear forkfuls of warm smoked duck, buffalo fried shrimp and coconut crispy catfish tacos with mango along with the infamous jerked baby-back “hell” ribs with a fiery pineapple scotch bonnet chile glaze. Speaking of, there are Hell Nights, when ECG rolls out special atomic-themed menu items guaranteed to char your taste buds, if you dare.
