The small and rather dark dining space inside the Frankfort Avenue Beer Depot (aka F.A.B.D.) may inspire you to take your “Q” outside to the fenced play yard known as “Beerhalla.” (It features a ping pong table and mini golf course.) And don’t be fooled by the honky-tonk atmosphere. The barbecue, including the chicken, beef brisket, ribs and pulled pork, is first rate. But what really sets F.A.B.D. apart from its peers is the smoky, tender barbecued salmon. Available by the pound with 24 hours’ notice, it is tender and has been known to grace buffets at some of the city’s most prestigious parties. Among the sides are baked beans, broccoli with cheese sauce, coleslaw, green beans and mac 'n' cheese, and a noteworthy bean soup. Beverage of choice: beer, of course.
