Frankfort Avenue Beer Depot Restaurant Review: A flotilla of boat-size smokers work their savory magic on the usual barbecue suspects --- ribs, brisket, pork, chicken --- but there are also some surprises. Salmon, turkey and ham may as well get the dry-rubbed treatment, and all the results are fork-tender. Sides include pork-laced green beans, slaw and potato salad. Not in a "Q" mood? Tuck into the first-rate bean soup and cornbread. No dessert is offered, but you'll be too full anyway. A draft or bottled beer is the ideal quaff with this fare. The F.A.B.D., as it's known, offers entertainment at ping pong tables and miniature golf in the tiny fenced area behind the store. |
