Frankfort Avenue Beer Depot Restaurant Review: Several large, barrel-shaped meat smokers are jammed between the front of what appears to be a small package liquor store and the street. The Frankfort Avenue Beer Depot (known affectionately as the F.A.B.D.) is indeed a liquor store. But it is also a friendly draft beer bar and a first-rate savory barbecue spot. Pulled pork, ribs, beef brisket and chicken are tops. Those in the know come here for the smoky and tender salmon. (With two days’ notice, you can take a pound home.) Among the sides are baked beans, green beans, coleslaw, mac 'n' cheese, and broccoli and cheese. There’s even an entertainment area. “Beerhalla” is the tiny fenced space behind the store where customers can play ping pong and miniature golf.
