Jade Asian Kitchen & Noodles Restaurant Review:

About the restaurant & décor: Located at the JW Marriott/Rampart Casino in the Promenade restaurant row off of the casino, this eatery offers a combination of Chinese, Japanese and Korean cuisines. Six environments include a lounge with TVs and windows, sushi bar, robata grill and noodle bar, outdoor patio with waterfalls and koi fish, teppanyaki room and dining room with high ceilings and wood accents.

Likes: Jade has not only an upscale environment and wide range of Asian cuisine, but also menu items priced as low as $5 and the vast majority under $20. Gluten-free, vegetarian or vegan selections (two dozen) are identified. A late-night happy hour in the bar and patio on Fridays and Saturdays from 9 p.m. to close offers select cocktails, beer, wine and saké plus select food options for under $7.
Dislikes: The sushi room offers little privacy with seating only at the bar or communal tables, but the sushi menu can be ordered from any of the other five environments in the restaurant.

Food & Drinks: Begin with salt and pepper calamari with green chili and nuoc mam sauce. From the robata grill try the prawns with shishito butter blanc or the noodle bar’s tonkotsu shoyu ramen with pork and soy broth, egg and mushroom dadegi. In the teppanyaki room chefs entertain while also preparing fried rice, vegetables and steak, shellfish and chicken. A dish that brings the wow factor is the Troy roll – seared salmon, spicy tuna, lotus root, fennel, bonito truffle crush and habanero aïoli – that is lit afire when it arrives at your table; likewise for its presentation alone, the prime red snapper whole fish served with the fish carcass on the plate and topped with fish roe. Finish with desserts including miso crème brûlée and black sesame panna cotta. Complementing the Asian fare are Asian beer and Japanese whisky, 20 different sakés, a full wine list and specialty cocktails such as the Signature Jade with matcha green tea, saké and coconut cream.
