THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Japanese Cuisine by Omae Restaurant Review:

Set in an unassuming strip mall, Japanese Cuisine by Omae is a small room decorated with a black, white and purple motif. There are ornate hanging globe lights inlaid with dragon images, walls draped with oversize kimonos embroidered with swans, and a tank with several large colorful rare koi valued from $6,000 to $27,000. But the French-influenced culinary stylings of executive chef Takeshi Omae, who garnered much attention while at Omae XEX in Tokyo, are what’s truly on display. One table for two to 10 guests is available during three evening seatings: 5:30 p.m., 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Each guest receives the seven-course omakase dishes selected by chef Omae ($150). The menu changes nightly and features premium fish shipped in from the Tsukiji Fish Market in Tokyo. You may find vegetable terrine and marinated chicken with salted rice malt comprised of 10 kinds of vegetables jellied with soy gelée; tempura with shrimp, scallop, crispy lotus root, snow peas, pumpkin and oyster mushroom; richly flavored hot udon soup --- thick wheat-flour noodles, egg, onion and spicy cod roe; and a refreshing, light dessert of green tea tiramisu. The restaurant doesn’t have a liquor license, but guests can bring their own alcoholic beverages free of charge.
