General manager Troy Phillips is also the pit master in this small but very popular barbecue joint serving up Texas-style brisket, pulled pork and pork ribs, chicken, and turkey breast, all sold by the pound as well as by the plate. A Texas chili rub is applied pre-smoking to give an extra spicy dimension to the tender meat. Sides are Lone Star style, too --- crisp coleslaw, ham-laced country beans, and addictive corn muffins. Cherry cobbler, made fresh every day, sells out quickly. No alcohol, so order carry out if you want beer with your barbecue.
