Lindo Michoacan Restaurant Review:

Lindo is Spanish for pretty; Michoacan is a state in central Mexico --- and Lindo Michoacan is a nice neighborhood restaurant. The colorful eatery is decorated with striking south-of-the border posters and artifacts bought by owner Javier Barajas in his native homeland. Tiled floors enhance the ambience. Fresh flour and corn tortillas are turned out all day and night. Tasty bean and salsa dips and a basket of chips are placed on the tables when guests are seated. Among the extensive selection of botanas (appetizers), try the Papa Chencho, a platter of taquitos, jalapeños, potato skins, sopitas, and corn and flour quesadillas, with guacamole and sour cream. Most dinners are served with sopa de fideos (soup), rice, beans and flour tortillas. Barajas’s recommendations, along with ours, include the langosta con novillo --- lobster and a 12-ounce New York steak with a choice of special recipes including cilantro, Cognac and a la diablo. Lunch specials are offered from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Tio (Uncle) Raul's flan is a winner, as are Abuelita (Grandmother) Ninfa's churros.
